Evaluation of Compartment Models for Simulation of Infliximab Depletion

چکیده
Infliximab is an antibody that is approved for treatment of the inflammatory bowel diseases Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. It is important to predict the course of the depletion of Infliximab in the body to time the regular infusions that patients get. The base model is a two-compartment-model and three parameter identification approaches are compared: identification of each infusion period separately, identification of each patient separately and identification of all measurement points at once. The best results provides the approach to identify the parameters for each infusion period separately. Wanting to improve the quality of the results, an extended model with continuous parameter antibodies to Infliximab (ATI) is considered, but the mean error is higher than for the base model. We conclude that the presence of antibodies to Infliximab in the body carries more weight than the actual number of antibodies. Finally, a model with an additional parameter, number of previous infusions with Infliximab (PRIORIFX), is created. This model could not improve the results of the base model. This indicates that the number of previous infusions with Infliximab is not significant for the model.

Economic Evaluation of Infliximab for Treatment of Refractory Ulcerative Colitis in Iran: Cost-Effectiveness Analysis
The aim of this study is to assess cost-effectiveness of infliximab, compared with conventional treatments in patients with moderate to severe Ulcerative Colitis (UC) in Iran. We developed an analytical decision model with a 5-year-time horizon to follow up 1000 hypothetical patients, in order to estimate treatment costs and outcomes. Hypothetical patients, were individuals with moderate to sev...
متن کاملEvaluation and comparison of performance of SDSM and CLIMGEN models in simulation of climatic variables in Qazvin plain
Climate change is found to be the most important global issue in the 21st century, so to monitor its trend is of great importance. Atmospheric General Circulation Models because of their large scale computational grid are not able to predict climatic parameters on a point scale, so small scale methods should be adapted. Among downscaling methods, statistical methods are used as they are easy to...

متن کاملAn Investigation of Asphaltene Deposition Mechanisms During Natural Depletion Process by a Two Phase Modeling Using Genetic Algorithm Technique
In this work, the natural depletion process in sandstone and carbonate cores was modeled to investigate the asphaltene deposition mechanisms. A new permeability reduction correlation was proposed based on the Minssieux model that considers a combination of surface deposition, pore throat plugging, and filtration cake mechanisms. The results showed that the filtration cake is a dominant asphalte...

The amount of Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) is an important factor in determining the water quality of rivers. The purposes of this paper was to investigate the efficiency of four intelligent models including, SVM-IWO, SVM-PSO, SVM-ABC, LS-SVM and Bayesian Neural Network, in predicting water quality of Babolrood and Sefidrood rivers, north of Iran. To achieve this aim, unpublished measured mont...
